Hello everyone, today I bring sad news regarding myself and the KF Host Project. My name is Antonio Kelison de Souza Bessa, I am 34 years old (born on 08/15/1991), and I have been diagnosed with Cerebellar Ataxia, a degenerative disease that is also attacking my vision.
For this reason, I am announcing that this project will be shut down. As my vision is already impaired and getting worse every day, I no longer have the physical condition to keep the project active and updated. The websites and systems will remain online only until the current hosting plan expires.
To be honest, I don't even know what to say. One doctor advised me to 'enjoy life and do the things I want to do'. I listened respectfully, but inside I thought: 'How am I going to do that if I'm broke?' A guy counting pennies to pay the bills can hardly enjoy his last days like in a movie — unless someone is interested in buying the project to continue it.
I apologize to everyone, I just don't know how to express all this. Unfortunately, there's no way to keep things running alone. I am immensely grateful to everyone who accessed, downloaded, and used the project. I tried to help as many people as possible, and I hope my content made a difference for some. It was very rewarding to read comments on YouTube saying it worked, to see your compliments and support. Thank you so much!
The current software will continue to work, but without new updates (so I don't know how long they will remain compatible with the servers). I even developed a new Android app to download Samsung firmwares which is ready, but I am waiting for the DUNS number requested by Google. If I get this approval before losing my vision, I will publish it on the Play Store (they asked for a 30-day deadline).
I still don't know the exact type of Ataxia I have. I need to do a genetic mapping exam to find out. I will try to get the money to do it; not that it will be of much clinical use to me now, but it is fundamental for my son. I pray to God he never goes through this, but it is important for him to know what genetic variation his father had, just as a precaution.
